Match the method to the fabric

Placing a design

• Wash new garments first to remove finishes that block glue, and skip fabric softener.
• Put card inside tops and sleeves.
• Mark the design with tailor’s chalk or a water-soluble pen, or use a rhinestone transfer.
• Avoid places that crease hard (elbows, knees, waistband folds) and places that rub (under arms, seat).
• Put the garment on and check the position in a mirror before you commit. A design that looks centered flat often sits low when worn.

Washing and drying

• Wait for hotfix to set (about a day), and for glue to cure fully (check the bottle).
• Turn inside out. A wash bag adds protection.
• Cool, gentle cycle; mild detergent; no bleach.
• Air dry flat or on a hanger. Tumble-dryer heat and tumbling both loosen stones.
• Iron from the reverse, never over the stones.
