How to apply gem stickers so they last
- Wipe the surface with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry.
- Lift gems with tweezers or a wax pick-up pen, not your fingers, so the adhesive stays clean.
- Press each gem firmly for a few seconds.
- Leave the object alone for a day before heavy use or getting it wet.
- Re-press any lifting gems early; replace lost ones with a dot of glue.
Removing gem stickers
Warm them gently with a hair dryer and lift with a fingernail or plastic card. Leftover adhesive usually rolls off, or comes away with a little isopropyl alcohol. Test on hidden areas first, especially on painted or printed surfaces.
Gem stickers vs a rhinestone kit
Stickers are quick and removable; a rhinestone kit with proper glue lasts much longer and covers large areas more cheaply. Many people use both: stickers for chunky accents, glued rhinestones for the fill.

How long do gem stickers last?
On a clean, rarely touched surface, a long time. On phones, cups and anything washed, expect some to lift within days or weeks unless you glue them.
Are gem stickers waterproof?
Most are not designed for repeated washing. Keep stickered items out of dishwashers and wash them by hand.
