What to know first
A trainer combines three surfaces — fabric, synthetic trims and rubber — and bends sharply at the toe. Canvas behaves like fabric and takes fabric glue or hotfix; leather, synthetic overlays and rubber don’t, and heat can mark them. So one pair can need two glues, and the design has to stop before the crease line.
Let the stones cool completely, wait 24 hours, then wash inside out on a gentle cool cycle.
What you need
Glass flatback rhinestones SS10–SS16
Gem-Tac for canvas; flexible E6000-type for other uppers
Wax pick-up pen
Laces removed; paper to stuff the shoe
Step by step
Remove the laces and stuff the shoes firm.
Clean canvas with a damp cloth; wipe synthetic and leather with isopropyl alcohol (test first).
Plan the design around the side panels, heel tab and tongue.
